What do you mean when you say
"Green" or "Earth-Friendly?"
There are many ways to be a little gentler with our earth and its resources. But how do you define all the different processes and terminology?
- Bio-based plastics: Plastics derived from one or more natural plant starches
- Biodegradable: Products or materials that will break down under natural conditions such as a landfill or compost conditions.
- Compostable: Products or materials that will break down in aerobic conditions in a controlled commercial compost.
- Organic plastics: Same as bio-based plastics
- Recycled: Plastic that has been previously molded, then reground
- Recyclable: Raw or processed material that can be re-processed.
- Post Consumer Recycled Plastics: Plastic that has been previously consumer used, returned, and ground up to be remolded.
- Renewable Plastic: Same as bio-based plastics
